The OPGW tension clamp is applied for mounting on terminal supports, tension supports, splicing supports, and deflection supports with a deflection angle exceeding 25° during OPGW stringing construction. The matching quantity configuration per support is specified as follows: one set for terminal supports, two sets for tension supports, two sets for splicing supports, and two sets for supports with a deflection angle greater than 25°. Users shall select qualified OPGW tension clamps in accordance with the actual outer diameter of the optical fiber composite overhead ground wire and the rated tensile strength (RTS) of the cable.

A complete OPGW tension clamp assembly consists of inner preformed armor rods, outer tension preformed rods, one thimble, one clevis and two anchor shackles.
